Hi everyone! It's me again! I'm back with my second post!

As some of you might know, music is my life. I can never go on living without a song continuously repeating in my head. Even though music is such a big part of my life, I am impaired at producing it. Enjoying music poses no problem, however, when I'm expressing my creativity musically, I feel crippled. I can't communicate with the instrument that I use efficiently and thoroughly.

Currently, I am into learning the piano. When I was a child, I didn't see the importance and usefulness of having such a skill embedded into me. I thought it was just a silly skill that parents try to put into their child so as to stand out among the other parents. Not saying that being proud of one's child is bad, it's just that it can be too stressing for the kid. There could be other skills that parents make their child learn for that sole purpose- to brag, but I now realised, learning the piano is something never to be given up or chucked aside. The magic of making a song just by a few simple chords on the 88 keys of an acoustic is something to be marveled, awed and at the same time thought-provoking.

You might wonder why I'm suddenly so hot for piano. "Maybe he is influenced by something? Perhaps a media of some sort...A friend? Magazine, or could it be....." (keep going...) " Aahh! yes! by the movie Music & Lyrics!"

Haha! you got part of it right. I am trying to learn how to play the song that Alex Fletcher( Hugh Grant) and Sophie Fisher( Drew Barrymore) have been working on days and nights on end for Cora (Haley Bennett). I actually started learning a few other piano pieces before I watched the movie on DVD. For example, the first song that I seriously learned and is able to play with a sing-a-long is " Superman" by Five for Fighting. The second main piece that I learned is Sadness and Sorrow ( Aito hi) by Toushiro Masuda from the famous anime- Naruto. In between I attempted many other different selection of latest popular songs, like It Ends Tonight by The All American Rejects, This Love by Maroon Five, Complicated by Avril Lavigne and Clocks by Coldplay. The song that was composed in the movie " Music and Lyrics" is entitled "Way back into love". It's supposedly made for Cora, an ultra-uber-superduper Superstar, that is planning on using the song for her own album and a live performance in Madison Square Garden- New York. The Song is fairly easy, compared to This Love by Maroon Five. The left hand chords are rather simple as a few chords are repeated many times in the whole song. The right hand just plays the melody that is already stuck into the heads of anyone that watched the movie.

In the process of learning this piece, as I have mentioned before, I am unable to read the notes. I require help from someone who is familiar with transferring what is on paper down on the piano. I have no problems recognising the keys, like A B C D E F G on the piano, so I need some deciphering to be done. Lo and Behold! It's already the start of January, my sole music teacher, Trudy has already started school in Tampines Junior College. Now I'm in a tight spot. I tried learning how to read the notes, but then I realised, it's not going to work. There are 5 pages for the whole song, I am never going to be able to fully translate those little (as they refer to it) Beansprouts into letters on the piano. So now my only hope to deliver me from this time of tribulation is Chermaine! I hope she's free to teach me the piece. When I was still in school, I noticed she and Trudy both took piano exams from the same place with Daniel? Anyway, with her musical expertise, I'm sure she would be a massive help to me.

So far I have only ranted about my problems, but that's with reasons of course!

My day has been pretty boring. I woke up at around 12( Classic timing to get up from bed) and from then on tried to search youtube for videos teaching different songs on the piano. Then I went ahead to finish watching Shrek 3, which is a hell of a hilarious animation. That movie cracked me up like I was high on weed. Then I watched the chick movie " Music & lyrics" which was supposed to be watched in the cinema with some chick that I wanted to hook up. Sadly that didn't happen, same for Enchanted( man! I'm such a faliure!). But oh wells! Learning to play the song to get girls swarming over me might well be the remedy to my all so love-starved heart, and to maybe feed my hormones.

No one's on Crysis servers and the only one that is populated with a decent ping is from Japan that gives me the faggiest lag ever. Even though the ping is ok, the lag ingame even cause the whole game to hang. Therefore I have come to blog.

How I wish school essays could be so open, then I think everyone would do well for their English. =)

My O levels better be good or I'm going to well... I can't do anything. 2 more weeks and we'll see how everything goes.

An update from yesterday's post, my A-hole riddled with pain this afternoon when I released the sambal that have already charred my innards.

Random statement : My nails are long.

Hi everyone, it's been a long time since I came back onto this little place where I pour out my thoughts and feelings to people I don't even know. Well , a year has gone by without even making a single post. What made me return to this sanctuary to blog you might ask?

After many weeks of reading blogs of people from all walks of life, I began to notice the many different styles of writing among their posts. Some were plain Faggy, with sentences ending with a "loh", "le", "liao". These things shouldn't even appear in writing for Heaven's sake. So I am here to give an example to everyone out there on how, as bloggers, should post on our blogs!

Firstly, using Singlish might be okay when speaking to another Singaporean, to achieve a level of informality to ensure that the conversation do not become too awkward. However, once it appears on writing, it condescends the author and we should really be careful not to get to that stage. Even if an extra effort is required to achieve the desired lingual status, like reading more books, it is definitely worth it.

Secondly, Vocabulary. I noticed in my previous posts, I tried to post like how I would actually write when attempting an essay and sad to say, I had only just met the requirements that I set for myself when blogging. After reading a few good blogs, all I have to say about my posts were that they were mediocre and under-performed. I am sure that in order for me to fulfill my dream and make it into Mass Communications, I'll have to work harder. Back to topic, I have seen the many different words people use just to convey a message that could have easily been said by a mere five-year-old kid. By adding a few additional adjectives (ones people get to see only so often), and substituting other basic words with higher order words, they make the passage more intriguing and interesting. The few words that I have learned today are "Condescend" and "Avant-Garde". Both higher order words that you don't get to see everyday, especially if you live in Singapore. Maybe from time to time, we ( or rather me) should pick up the dictionary to read up on some new vocabulary to help improve our ever declining standard of English.

Now I am safe to say that I have un-officially became a spokesperson for the "Speak Good English Campaign" a campaign that the government started in order to rid us of our home-brewed language that gave us our identity- Singlish.

The Third and final point of my list of writing a good blog post is the style of writing. Everyone has a different way of writing. Be it "Roald Dahl", "Charles Dickson", "Dan Brown" or "J.K Rowling", they share a similar trait- they each have their own style when writing novels and story books. As bloggers, we should strive to find our own style and kindle it, like a flame. When it's small and blurry, spend more time and effort on it. Soon it will get bigger and after that, we don't even have to think about it as it becomes second-nature. If one has a passion for writing or for blogging for that matter, style comes easily. Authors write what they feel, what they think. Everything comes from the inside. It is where ones true identity resides upon. Style comes along with that, it metaphorically represents our nature in words.

I believe after writing three main points in my ever-so-long-awaited post, I still haven't met the required length of a suitable essay. However, I felt that I have already said what I wanted to say and presented my feelings to everyone out there. Hopefully this is just the beginning of the many posts yet to come. Blogging about my day helps me to improve my English. Those of you in my MSN contacts, please remind me to blog if I haven't. I will be eternally grateful to you if you do.

To end off my first post in Year 2008, I wish Ying Hao a happy birthday and may all of us support the Production of Belacan and Sambal.

P.S I said that because I ate 3 dishes worth of food together with double sambal on it. Ok, I admit, it was a little random.

This is me in Gunbound!
